Knots

Fall 2019 | Professor Roberto Bertoia

Knots followed my love of nonpredictive design, testing pliability of solid steel. Seemingly effortless knots are formed by heating the steel with an acetylene torch and bending the steel stock into place. There is a feeling of joy created in the transformation of the rigid metal. This was one of my first exhibitions. The sculptures were featured during the month of December at the Cornell Vet School Library.
